Summer in Madrid is hot, much like in Mwanza. I miss the view of Victoria Lake while I read this inspiring article in the Tanzanian newspaper Daily News
It talks about a new three-year Community-Based Water, Hygiene and Sanitation project in Serengeti District, Mara Region, designed to benefit thousands of people in five wards (Isenye, Ring’wani, Kyambahi, Kebanchebancha and Natta).
Run in tandem by Amref and Ferrovial, the project will contribute to Tanzania’s overall objective of reducing by half the number of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and adequate basic sanitation services by 2015. For that purpose, the people of Serengeti will be involved through participatory planning and monitoring of all activities.
I can’t help taking a deep breath. This is finally a reality, that which we envisioned -and hoped for- while we filmed this 15mn video in those wards barely a year ago.
Now I have no doubts. It was all true. Corporations, NGOs and Governments are to join forces and provide clean water, the origin of life (particularly in the Serengeti, where the very first humans were found). The World must be for those who dream dreams, and are willing to pay the price to make them come true.

I enjoy watching it as much as I did in Mugumu
What if you sleep, and while you sleep, you dream. What of you dream, and while you dream you see a very rare and beatifull flower. What if you wake up, and the flower is over your pillow. What then?
What if one day, nobody else would die because of Water?
The contemplation of things as they are, without substitution or imposture, without error and confusion, is in itself a nobler thing than a whole harvest of invention”
